Pre-heat your oven to 350°F and butter a nine inch baking dish.
Then prepare your quick cheat custard where you have to beat together the eggs, milk, cream, demerara sugar and vanilla extract together, and set aside.
Now here’s how you do this. We need to get 3 layers sorted. Butter each slice of bread on both sides and lay your first layer down in the pan. Top with marmalade, brown sugar, raisins and nuts. Then pour a third of the custard sauce.
Then goes the second layer and repeat the ingredients, and then finally the third layer.
Top this with more butter and into the oven it goes for 40-45 minutes or until it's a lovely golden brown shade of warm, bubbling, homey goodness.
