Easy AF to make, tastes bomb and can be eaten with literally everything. Pizza? Yea! Pasta? Hell yea!
In a deep pot on a low flame, pour in around 3 tbsp of olive oil and to that add in the garlic and shallots. Toss this about until the onions turn translucent.
Then add in the chopped tomatoes and the chilli flakes. Stir well and then goes in the can of crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar, water and salt. Let this simmer and reduce for around 30 minutes on low flame.
Add in the dark rum and the chorizo next, and let this simmer for a further 10 minutes. Generously sprinkle the grated cheddar over if serving as a dip with breadsticks.
Else, toss cooked in cooked pasta, add on to pizza or spoon over eggs.
